This movie looks very interesting. I'm afraid it's gonna be just entertaining though, and not deep on plot, characters. I think it would be better if it was more like LA Confidential with a strong script and blah blah blah..... ah well, looks like the machine wins again

Candice: I liked every other scene of hers. Just think she was asked to go a little too off the edge in that one particular instance.

Thank you so much for taking the trouble to do this!! I read the book twice and I have just seen the film which was truly brilliant and those songs so apt and moving; some real tear-jerkers in there! I have already ordered a 'Washington' CD online and seen a Lonnie album with 2 of the tracks on it but still cannot find Mule Skinner Blues; will keep searching. Thanks again Danny xx

Blumy: Having not read the books, the impression I got from Peeta's screen-version character was that he was sort of a shy and insecure person, and I therefore thought that Hutcherson's "woodenness" worked fine. I do agree, though, that there was a certain stagnant quality to his performance.

Very solid review. How did you find Hutcherson as an actor? I thought he was a bit wooden as a character who is supposed to be very charismatic.
