The official trailer for Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Biutiful has been released online via Apple, and its main message is this: Javier Bardem will be pushed hard for a Best Actor nomination. The film has been received with mixed reviews from print and online critics alike, although praise for Bardem’s lead work seems to be the one thing everyone agrees upon. If you haven’t come across it already, Esquire’s Chris Jones did an interview with Bardem that is a must-read. Biutiful — which Bardem calls “a masterpiece” — opens on December 29.

Looks like it was made for the Oscars, the guys from the Academy are going to love it. Anyways, I’ll support Colin Firth, he’s so badly in need of the award! By the way, is the music used in ‘Biutiful’ original? I found it really beautiful.

Much better than I thought it would be – the trailer I mean – if it comes to Reno I’ll be seeing this.

@ Lesya: I have read online that the music is the original score from Lust, Caution. I haven’t seen that film myself, but multiple sources have verified it.

It appears to be Exodus by Alexandre Desplat from said Lust, Caution album.

Yes. Indeed the name of the song is “Wong Chia Chi’s Theme” and it’s from the movie “Lust, Caution”.
