Trailer for Aronofsky’s ‘Black Swan’

The trailer for Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan has been long-awaited by yours truly, and if I’ve learned one thing, it’s that this psychological thriller seems to be light-years away from the types of film the Academy usually rewards. Nevertheless, I would still bet on some strong pushes for nominations. Aronofsky and lead actress Natalie Portman appear to be likely candidates. I’m also going on the record and saying that I think Mila Kunis could surprise some people and make a play herself. The film’s limited release begins on December 1.

It sounds like Mansell knocked another one out of the park. Give the man a goddamn Oscar already.

Not really sure what to make of this trailer and movie. I guess that’s because I’m a guy lol but this doesn’t seem too appetizing except maybe for a potential good to great performance from Portman to watch for (can’t really tell from the trailer)

@ Fitz: Can’t wait to hear the score in its entirety.

@ Castor: I could see being turned off by the trailer, but I’m not sure it would have much to do with gender. The tone of the trailer is far too dark for this to be labeled a female-oriented movie merely because of the ballet elements.

Super excited for this movie and I think it might just be Aronofsky’s best but only time will tell.

@ Jaccstev: I love both Requiem for a Dream and The Wrestler dearly, so this one will have to be fantastic for me to call it Aronofsky’s best. Though I am quite optimistic.
